The Dead Blog Office

I have been told I have strange hobbies. Or at least I’m sure I would be if I admitted to them in person. Like the blog I started last week when I was trying to name a new blog of mine and kept getting the message that the blog name was taken, but when I went to look the blog in question had been abandoned without relinquishing the name. How does one make a hobby of that, you ask (or maybe you didn’t, but I’ll tell you anyway because it’s my blog. If you want to ask and answer your own imaginary questions you can do that on your own blog.)

Surfing to these dead blogs, I found that some of them were actually worth reading in a people-watching sort of way. Some of them were funny, some of them were so well written I wished the author had written more, some offered insight. I started thinking that more people should get to read these blogs, which inevitably led to me starting another blog just for that purpose: The Dead Blog Office.

The best blog of the first week is Silence Dogood. A single post, a little gem that should get more exposure. Let me know what you thought of it. I’d hate to think I’m the only who appreciated it—I just wish I knew whether it was real or a writer doing a fly-by fiction experiment.
