Word of Blog Book Finds: MouseGuard Fall 1152

I have a growing Wish List and TBR pile because of book blogs. Whenever I add a book to my list in Bookpedia, I add the URL of the blog that brought the book to my attention (that way I can refresh my memory as to why it’s on the list).

I’ve decided to share my finds and the excellent reviews of my fellow book bloggers each Sunday. Leave a comment with a link to your post or a trackback if you decide to play along.

Mouse Guard: Fall 1152The first book is Mouse Guard: Fall 1152 which came to my attention through the Graphic Novel Challenge Blog with this review. which was written and posted by Nymeth, who’s blog is Things Mean A Lot.

What caught my attention?

The first thing that caught my attention was the art, which is absolutely gorgeous. You can see it up close on the official site (where you can also get wallpaper and avatars). The second thing was the concept of a society of sentient mice living in a medieval-like era who are fierce warriors (despite their cute appearance). I just loved the concept. I should probably mention that the only pets I had growing up were a goldfish and a succession of hamsters (I was allergic to everything else), so I do have a soft spot for cute rodents.

I did! I just tracked it down yesterday at the library and read it. It’s now on my ‘must own’ list and I never would have come across it if not for your review.
