For those of you not getting the Tor.com newsletter (and why not, I ask?), there are two goodies this week.
First, if you sign up for an account at Tor.com you will be able to download a free Tor ebook every month. That’s right, free Tor book downloads are back, though scaled back from their campaign earlier this year.
Second, if you’re not getting the Tor.com newsletter, you may have missed the sequel to Jumper and Reflex by Steven Gould. I haven’t read it so I’m pilfering the newsletter description (apologies to Tor, and I’ll take it down if it’s an issue):
“Before it was a big-budget movie with a somewhat (cough, cough) rearranged storyline, Jumper (1992) was a superb SF novel about a teenager who’s the only person in the world who can teleport…and who, being a teenager, uses this power to (1) get away from his terrible father, (2) steal cool stuff, and (3) get girls. It was a grabby, compelling read, and its sequel Reflex (2004) was just as much fun.
