Word of Blog Book Finds: Bonk

I have a growing Wish List and TBR pile because of book blogs. Whenever I add a book to my list in Bookpedia, I add the URL of the blog that brought the book to my attention (that way I can refresh my memory as to why it’s on the list).

I’ve decided to share my finds and the excellent reviews of my fellow book bloggers each Monday. Leave a comment with a link to your post or a trackback if you decide to play along.

The tenth book to catch my eye in my book blog browsing was Bonk by Mary Roach reviewed over at The Hidden Side of a Leaf.

What caught my attention?

Well, I have to admit it didn’t take much. After all, I’m a science geek by (former) trade so my curiosity is already piqued if it’s a science book. A science book looking at sex research? Tell me more!

I love Roach’s writing style and humor. I actually found that I enjoyed the footnotes even more than the main body of the book, because those were where Roach’s appreciation for the absurd shone.

Ooh, humour. And the absurd. Sold (told you I’m easy). Apparently there are squicky facts too. Check out the full review.
