Jeffrey Zeldman is well known in web design and he is now allowing the download of one of his older books on web design called Taking Your Talent to the Web. This book’s audience is “print designers whose clients want websites, [...] homepage creators who are ready to turn pro, and professionals who seek to deepen their web skills and understanding.” Originally published in 2001, Taking Your Talent to the Web may have some stale technology references but the design principles and the advice on moving from print to screen are still relevant (after all, it’s still us humans viewing the websites).
I haven’t read this particular book of Zeldman’s, but I do own a first edition of his Designing with Web Standards which was well worth the money. Jeffrey Zeldman is a contributor to the excellent web design site A List Apart: From Pixels to Prose, Coding to Content.
